How do you know that you are pregnant when you have permanent body changes after pregnancy? When you think about it, when a woman becomes pregnant, she is literally changing her entire body. She is gaining weight, losing weight, and changing the shape and size of her breasts, waist and abdomen. But during the months after a pregnancy, permanent body changes continue to be clear. But because there are just so many different questions around postpartum body change, will address each major topic separately in this article.
Weight Gain
This is the one question that most new moms will have, and it is a legitimate concern. Many women go right ahead and let the weight gain happens. But just because they gained weight during their pregnancy doesn’t mean that they can’t keep it under control. The key is to eat healthily and to do some form of regular exercise. Don’t forget about your vitamins! They are vital and will help you as you go back to being a normal weight after childbirth.
Hair Loss
Did you know that you can actually cause hair loss by releasing hormones during your pregnancy? This can be true for new moms, but is also true for breastfeeding mothers. New moms will experience the biggest surge in hormones when they wean the baby from the breast milk. It is important to remember not to get too worried about hair loss as the hair will grow back within a few months of giving up the baby.
During pregnancy, your hormones can affect your hair growth and you can go through phases of hair loss. This is normal because your body is going through a lot of changes. The only way to combat this is to take vitamins, eat healthy and exercise regularly. Do not worry about losing your hair as this will go back once you have given birth to your child.
Pelvic Inflammation and Hygiene
Some women experience an unexpected surge of hormones during their pregnancy and then never really know why. While the pelvic area is quite sensitive and ready to express, it can cause irritation and itching. Some women report spotting more often than usual and experiencing a weaker pelvic squeeze at times. If you notice this occurring regularly or if it is an extreme case, contact your OB/GYN for advice. This may not always be related to breastfeeding however and may be due to other factors such as infections, sexually transmitted diseases, or similar problems.
Stretch Marks
One of the most common after birth body changes is stretch marks. You may have noticed them on your abdomen during the last trimester or you may still be developing them. Stretch marks are caused by sudden weight gain and stretching of the skin which occurs as the belly stretches after giving birth. This can happen to women who are carrying extra weight outside their body during their pregnancy. Excessive weight gain is also a common reason behind stretch marks on other parts of the body as well.
